Ok, ok... it's a little late for those of you who aren't on the Xero site mailing list, but this was the plugin released just a few days before Christmas 2006 as a seasonal "thankyou" to all those who take the time and trouble to support the site.
The star was created using the Xero Pulsar plugin. Pulsar is a freeware starmaker for those who want to make stars but don't wish to buy Quasar! You can download the full, unrestricted version from the link below. The other effects in this image - the silhouetting, the midnight-blue selective gradient - were achieved using plugins that are still in preparation: Conditioner and MetaGrad, respectively. The Pulsar download file contains demo versions of those two plugins, along with a third plugin called Refiner.
The Conditioner, MetaGrad and Refiner plugins will be available early in 2007, priced at $14.99 (£9.99 UK) each, or $29.99 (£19.99 UK) for all three.
